Happy New Year 2020!
Happy New Year 2020!
Yes! Another New year... time for celebrations and new resolutions, dropping the old ones ( some of which have not kick-started since last New year, Lol )
And yes you can’t but evade it with dollops of commercialization thrown in on your face and all the social networking media going gaga over the celebration posts!
While all this has the fun element, over-hyped celebrations, guess people need someday to get together to celebrate, given the busy lives day to day …an important event or happening does call for a celebration and it needs to be shared coz it brings happiness and positivity …. why defer a celebration when we can have a mini-event of our own each day. Small moments that bring big happiness to happen and almost go away quietly without we even noticing or cherishing it or rather push the celebrations to another convenient date! Look around guys, there are so many of them! Celebrate your own special moments whenever you can, coz these are the reassurances and motivators for our life. So, just drop the worries about getting dressed up, scout for a venue and the menu and the, of course, making a guest list. It can be just an impromptu, just with the people who matter!
Isn’t most of our days full of beautiful moments – small and big? Do take a while and notice, these can help build positive emotions and buffer us against not so good days .. Such moments strengthen us with happy memories; Waking up to the clutter of kids going to school, watching the subtle details of the city as we jog, travel times when stuck in a 2-hour traffic elegantly navigated by the Uber guy, a flash of smile from the little children selling some stuff at the signal, that beautiful sight of the sun glinting off the lake, the small vendors selling vada pav’s and idlis where the professionals with loosened ties and daily wage workers savor the delicacies with equal josh, an interesting conversation on Whatapp, a Bravo from boss, expression of gratitude for helping someone, a passion which you pursue, looking forward to meet a special friend, just yapping with a close friend to beat the blues away, an affectionate ping from someone you care – no matter where you are, there is always a beautiful moment to savor and celebrate!
Not every celebration calls for a big party ( spending $ ), a small instinctive or impromptu celebration of a moment is as important as we soak up the feel-good moment of our lives and brings out a grin & makes our heart smile! These do stay with you and adds up your positivity and reassurance … A happy moment experienced and shared stay with us forever.
So just take a while to stay with the moment – be a Santa whenever u can, Do something that makes you feel good, Acknowledge with gratitude, Say a prayer, share it with a loved one biting into your favorite food!
Big celebrations for life’s goals
Small ones for our happy souls !!
Friends, what’s your soul food? Go figure !
Well written and true.. We should enjoy little things in life.. 😊
