Coffee And His Magical Smile......

2nd March 2015....

It was one of those Manic Mondays, the scheduler popped up showing three back to back meetings as I carefully packed my stuff and strutted out of the office ..

A good three hours later, done with the first meet which  was kind of boring while I was trying to look interested at the power point presentations and busy browsing through my whatapp messages .

Sigh of relief when I saw  a ping that the next meetings were rescheduled by a couple of hours !

Had to while away some time , I found myself walking in to the local CCD ... queue guaranteed a wait for minimum 20 min !!!   Sigh , now with something as exciting as standing in the queue , eyes roved past the shop. Till I realized that there was another pair of eyes on me .  He was wearing a black hoodie, blue denim, hair disheveled ( a la SRK ) , laptop on the table and sipping his coffee.

At that same moment , very funnily both of us trying to shift the gaze as if we were looking out for something / someone else :) I found myself smiling at myself and saw him reciprocating ! As I moved on the queue the silent glances continued , shy as I always am , found myself looking the other way when I saw him catching my eye . This went on for a while till I reached the counter ,got my coffee and struggled my way out to find a place in a corner . Just then , when I was passing through the aisle, he looked at me and gave me the most incredible smile . The corner of his lips looked awesome and had shirt hood causally over his shoulder, twinkle in the eyes and his hand running past his hair .....

And me the eternal fool, didn’t know how to react,  got the most stoic expression on my face and walked off to the corner table all the while arguing with myself why didn’t I smile back . Sat there slowly sipping the coffee and finally when I got off to leave just managed courage to glance at his table … which was empty !! The realist in me kept telling me what a fool I would have made of myself if I had acknowledged his smile . 

Well, there is always another  day . I may just see him some other day , same place –my heart said and could hear my mind laughing away at that thought .

What was it that we shared? Why did it leave me with a happy feel  as if it was something magical ! I didn’t know him  nor his name …

As I walked out on to the lane , heard  my mind’s rationale …..Hey girl , he  was all about what we seek to have in our lives everyday-  Reassurances…, Compliments , Recognition…. audible and silent .

Admit or not we do yearn for it every day from someone special  :)

Of course yes , I wouldn’t mind standing in that queue , a longer one ,yet again  if it means to see him,  twinkle in his eye and respond to his smile!
