A Dreamy Walk and a Bittersweet Goodbye

So thats all team for the day, as my Manager concluded the team meet. A quick glance at the watch it was past 10.35 pm, wrapped up in a jiffy to dash out of the office building. 

The walk outside the lane off to the road always fascinated me .. tall buildings lit up beautifully in the backdrop of the sky and the exquisite Powai lake gleaming in the reflection of the lights is a treat of the eyes and soul !!  

Built around the serene Powai Lake, with scenic lake view residences, abundant greens, wide roads, vibrant energy.. Powai’s reputation precedes itself as the most desirable neighborhood to call home. A childhood dream to reside in this beautiful place which I had always nurtured .

The lake looks majestically beautiful during dawn & twilight hours and ofcourse it's the mountains that i see each day as I walk out of my office building always fascinated me and would get me in to the day dreaming mode !! A dream house in the midst of this beautiful place to settle down with a girl .. yes ,toh fir life set hei ! Such is the magic of Powai .it can turn a unromantic person eloquently wax romance ;)

Walking down the street soaked in these thoughts, I heard my name being called out . It was Avni! I smiled as I saw her sprinting towards me from the building gate Have known her for 11 months now , always had a feel good feel when I am with her :) and I guess the feeling was mutual . 

My day dreaming saga working on my mind ..this seemed kinda perfect ,Powai, mountains and her . She calling out to me now , my day dreaming vaulted exponentially !! Seemed so perfect .

Our pace slowed as we walked towards the road.

I usually get damn restless when my uber gets delayed,but somehow it didn't matter today as she kept on talking to me about how her day went ,work and a lot of things . i could keep listening to her forever .

In the midst of our conversation, she suddenly took a pause looked at me for a while and said softly " Am getting married ,my folks have fixed up an alliance " . I glanced at her ,my face excatly conveyed that this was not what I would hv wanted to hear ..not at this moment. 

As you slowly walk away 

Am I trying to be strong ? 

Knowing you for so long 

My heart pens a song ! 

was it my wishful thinking

Or is it my day dreaming ? 

Was the love just too little 

Or was it little too late ! 

Nobody said it was easy 

But it does hurt to part :(

And it's gonna be real hard

For a new dream to start !

As I watch you fade from sight,

I try to hold back the tear.

I wrap my arms around myself

And hug the memories we shared.

The night descends on Powai Lake,

Reflecting my shattered heart.

Was it just a fleeting moment,

Or was it love from the start?

The wind whispers a mournful tune

As I stand here all alone,

Wondering if you'll ever know

How much my love has grown.

" Hey my Ola has arrived" ...her voice snapped me off my day dream . As she looked at me and walked away towards her cab , our eyes spoke a million things .

She turned and suddenly walked back towards me.

" We failed , isn't it ? " I nodded with a smile .

" Can I drop you off some where ? " She asked as she saw me cancelling my uber ride.

"No, i think I will walk a while , just want to see and feel if Powai still looks as beautiful without you "
