Wish Comes True !!!!!

2 months,1 week, 4 days -  Life for Ayan  was busy  juggling work  and his various personal projects with a tunnel vision focus  of “ life ko set karna hai by 40”

Somehow Naina featured in his head off & on. There was something angelic about her and no matter how much he tried,  Ayan could not get her off his head. As he lay on  his couch browsing  her cell number thinking how she would react if he called; will she even remember me ? He rolled over the couch  with these thoughts …down to the floor !

He smiled and thought “ Now this must be Falling in love “    Ok enough of this thinking . Off to sleep!!

“Hey, today is the meeting with the HR head, have no clue what the new assignment  he’s gonna doll out to us “ said Ayan to his colleagues.

“Hi Team, as a part of our Company’s CSR, I want you to please check out a few places with whom we can be associated with.The HR head announced.

Omg, such a boring thing to do, Ayan did a small self talk .

The HR head called out the names of the organisations,  “Make A Wish Foundation”  ….  Hey the name rings a bell, Ayan  instantly volunteered to visit the place.  What if I meet Naina there, happy thoughts filled his mind. He patiently waited as  HR charted out the program. He checked the date. Next Wednesday, it is . My visit to Make A Wish Foundation (MAWF) .

Ayan waited patiently for the day to arrive. What do I wear ? Should I Shave ? Picked up a Zodiac Black Shirt,. pulled up polished Formal shoes, sprayed  his favorite Perfume. Glanced in to the mirror ? Do I look cool,… Ok whatever !! Am  supposed to go  there as recommended by my Organisation, I don’t even know I would meet her  !

Not once did  the thought crossed his mind that all this wouldn’t  matter to Naina’s blind eyes .    

For Ayan, it was best if  Some Question should be left unanswered.

A quick introduction to the official at MAWF , Ayan impressed his organisation’s intent to be associated with them. He welcomed the suggestion and said “ Yes, Ayan we could work on this project. There will be a representation from our side with whom you can co-ordinate the functioning. Then he spoke to someone over the phone and asked Ayan to wait in the next cabin.

 

Ayan waited, his eyes fixed at the cabin door hoping Naina would walk in . Much to his amazement , She did.  He rose and walked up to her.

Ayan : "Pleasant surprise !" I didn’t expect my wishes would come true so soon  !!

Naina paused for a while and said :  “ Oh the lost cellphone guy !

Ayan :  Hey , its amazing that you remember me ?

Naina smiled and said : I don’t forget voices .

Ayan : " No......I mean..... its been a while for that event …Ayan quickly mentioned to her on their brief encounter at the Performance venue for MAWF

Naina :  "Hi! I am Naina "

He replied  "I know, I am Ayan .

Naina  "So you managed to  find your cell that day ? Cool “, You sounded pretty worried  that day as if you have lost something precious “

Ayan : "Hey! Let's not belittle the importance  of the cellphone. These small things  have been very useful to people, you know; to help them bond, have romantic conversations."

Naina  giggled; Ayan watched her n said  "Your eyes! The most beautiful pair I have ever seen. The laugh reaches your eyes !

Naina retorted : That’s a nice thing  I have heard about me . Are you flirting with me?  

“No , that line is from the last book  I read” Ayan said sheepishly.

Naina laughed really hard and Ayan joined her and said “ Here I am all alone with a beautiful, intelligent girl , you can't blame me for trying”

Naina: " Good . A modest flirt , are you?"

Ayan  :"Thanks for the back handed compliment “

Naina: "I don't remember the last time I laughed so much."

Ayan : "Well, I hope you shall remember this time."

"Okay. Lets discuss work,  She said . He explained to her the purpose of his visit , she seemed to be quite a professional in handling such matters with ease .

Ayan’s phone rang intermittently , as they spoke . Many a times he excused himself to attend the priority calls , negotiating a better deal for some projects he would take up. Naina gathered from his talks, his focus for making some fast bucks .

So, the small little cellphone is also used for work other than romantic conversations, is it ? Asked Naina with a sarcasm .

“ Come on Naina, these all are work related calls, I don’t invest in emotions, its a total waste.  Yeah, but I do have a galaxy of pretty girls , said Ayan with a cheeky smile .

“Ayan , you are here for  MAWF project only coz your org has assigned you the task isn’t it ?  you would be happy doing any other project which would earn you good money and where you can be a star grabbing all the attention ?.   Naina tone was very matter of fact .

“ Hey actually I am here so that I can spend some time with you “  Ayan  was about to say this but he paused and said “  Good observation Naina . Yes, you are right , and what’s wrong with that . My work gets me $  and Money brings  happiness “

“ Agree, money can buy some happiness, but  it’s just one piece of the puzzle. The key is finding a balance between having too little and having too much—and that’s no easy task.There is  more than one way to measure “ wealth “  Traditionally it is measured in dollars, but you can be "rich n happy " in ways that have nothing to do with money.

Are you free this weekend Ayan, why don’t you join me for sometime for an ongoing project of mine ?

“Sure , you let me know when . I ‘ll be there “ . Ayan jumped at the invite .

With the Initial plan chalked out , it was time for him to leave. On his way back his thoughts wandered around Naina. She works with MAWF which tries to fulfill peoples wishes . Doesn't she have any wishes for herself ? Hmmn, Must ask her next time, Ayan’s updated this to  his mind’s to do list  with a smile .
