Life is Beautiful....!!!

The concert day…. for  Adi it was the most important day of his life . A gamut of feelings swept past him – excitement, nervousness – as he geared up for the event.  Too many things at stake,  I can’t let myself down, I can’t let the people close to me who stood by me to see this day, down - Adi’s mind was filled with these thoughts .

“ Hey, Rockstar, all set ?  Am waiting to see your performance and that sexy smile of yours on the stage . My Adi is gonna rock “ Neha’s message made him smile .   

“Yeah, the smile will be there , only for you, Be there ”  . he replied .

It was a star-studded magical evening. This is going to the highlight of Adi’s musical career. All top 5 finalists were there in all their glory. As the performances started one after the other, Neha’s heartbeats went faster as she heard Adi’s name being announced. 

She saw Adi walking up to the center stage, spotlights on him. He looked awesome, his silky hair falling on his face, the hair band made him look sexy as he picked up his guitar and waved to the crowd. There was a huge roar from the crowd with chants of Adi , Adi …

Neha was overwhelmed at the scene. She and Adi exchanged glances as he took the center stage . Will we make it , his eyes seemed to be asking . There was a certain calmness on Neha’s face which instantly put Adi’s nervousness at ease .

“This is my version of song.... "You are beautiful" and is very close to my heart  “Adi spoke and he  belted out the song

She smiled at me at the coffee shop

And I didn’t want that moment to Stop !

The crowd was cheering as he sang and it was really one the best performances of the evening.  Adi’s eyes was glued to Neha as he sang . Neha was stumped and elated at this impromptu gesture of Adi as she could connect with the song and she kind of knew that this song was for her.  She had tears in her eyes and she wasn’t ashamed to let it show.  

More performances and then it was the result time. Adi had called Neha backstage and held her hand as the names were about to be announced.  As the  first spot was announced in favor of Rahul, Adi’s face fell and he was kind of disappointed . His mind went blank as Neha excitedly was screaming to tell him that he stood second and his name was being announced.  Reluctantly, he walked up to the stage to collect his runner-up trophy.

Post the event, Adi and Neha were walking up the Marine drive Stretch, Adi was a bit subdued. He asked Neha “ I had put in so much effort for this event , this was my dream event and I have let myself down , I have let you down . Tell me has anything changed for you Neha ?

Neha kind of expected this from Adi. She looked at him calmly and said  “ Look around Adi. There are thousands of people who come here to make their dreams come true, everyone has  passion the drive to make it but how many of them have reached the stage where you are today? You have just performed at NCPA with the best talent and the best guys in the industry judging you . Didn’t you hear the chants of your name from the crowd? So what you didn’t come first, your efforts have made you reach here today Adi. Don’t ever undermine that, this is only the beginning !!!

And as for me , We had such beautiful journey together, so much fun, and laughs – all other things we worry about in our lives like money, success fame  seem so less important ,. Its family friends and love and support that makes our world really go round .  You had told me few weeks ago that you have only your music and your love to offer me . Today  I still have you and your love for me isn’t it?  I haven’t lost anything  infact I have a famous Adi with me , She said  hugging him . Adi was touched by her talk and gesture and hugged her right back – the sea , the crowd at Marine Drive didn’t seem to exist then  as he whispered into her “ I love you, Neha “

That moment belonged only to them.

Adi's cell rang, it was an unknown no. as he picked the call.  “ Aditya , this is from the Linats Agency. we loved your performance today and would be happy if you join our Agency. Can we meet up tomorrow and discuss the way forward “   Adi was elated, it was one of the prestigious band managers in the country. A perfect finale, Neha said as they zoomed back home .

The next few weeks were busy for Adi. Meetings, Schedules Events, he was up the league and agencies were getting in touch with him for his dates. His life was slowly changing and he was enjoying every minute of the adulation being showered on him.

Whatever happens in life  do think how fortunate we are to have come so far from our humble beginnings. Its our upbringing probably made us sturdy survivors !

One evening Adi was sitting at Powai  lake with his friends, there was a call from Mira on his cell .   “ Hey Adi, I need to share something with you, Its about Neha. Can you please come and see me right away, please its really important “

Adi managed to say “ yeah sure “  and walked up to his bike. His mind was racing to know what is it that Mira wants to say about Neha …..Hope Neha is fine, Adi seemed worried.  Seeing him disoriented, Adi’s friends followed him to Mira’s place .

What is it that Mira wanted to share with Adi about Neha ?
