Love Speaks Happyness....

"Which US project are you talking about? And Neha turned down that offer, why?" Adi asked as he walked up to Mira.

Neha, with bated breath, expected the same outburst from Mira which she was earlier subjected to. She stood there silently as she let Mira speak .

“Yes Adi, she deferred her going to US because for her, being with you and being a part of  your struggles, seeing your journey to success is more important at this point of time."

Stunned by what he just heard, Adi turned and looked at Neha, "Are you kidding! How could you turn down an offer which you have been waiting for; you have worked so hard for this project?" 

As Neha struggled to collect her thoughts to answer Adi's question, she heard Mira speak, "Adi, I think Neha has taken the right decision. She could always get another project overseas, but this time with you is what makes her happy and she chose happiness."

Mira’s response was so emphatic that it left no room for any debate or discussion for Adi. He seemed so overwhelmed and was at a loss of words at the situation. He walked up to Neha and said, " I guessed something was bothering you when I saw you all alone in the rain at the lake and walked with you home. I didn’t ask you then because I thought if it was something important, you would let me know about it. Now after hearing this, I don’t even know if I deserve all this goodness!"

All Neha managed to say was, "Yes Adi, I was a li'l ruffled. I debated with myself too, whether to talk to you on this. But then I thought these moments with you - this is where my happiness is; I didn't want anything to take it away from us. Moreover, I didn’t want to bother you all this while because you were focusing on your big audition."

"I can understand, but I would be happy if we could share the not-so-happy moments together too. See you all later," he hugged Neha as he left .

Neha was stumped at the stoic response from Mira. The girl who fought tooth and nail against my decision a few hours ago stood up for me when I was tongue-tied. A string of tears rolled down from her eyes. Mira realized what was going on in Neha's mind and said calmly, "He knew that something was bothering you and walked you home. When Adi was throwing questions at us, I could see the deep and unspoken care and affection he had for you and it was at that moment, I was convinced that your decision is right."

"You guys are really blessed to have each other in your lives," said Mira with a smile .

Neha poured in all her affection for her dear friend in one bear-hug and replied, "And we too are blessed to have you."

For Adi, it was a restless walk back home as many thoughts clouded his mind. It was the best day of his life after a really long time. The moments with Neha in the rain, the kiss - made it seem like a magical world and the thought that she had turned down an offer just to be with him was too overwhelming for him. No one has made him feel so special and he just wanted to scream and yell and tell the world "God, I love her and I am so damn Happy!"

Adi’s thoughts soared, "I want to tell her too, but at this time of my life, all I have to offer is - music and my love for her. I need to crack this audition and get myself the opportunity to perform with the band. This is a must-win situation for me. Also, there is too much of pressure from parents to take up a professional job and quit the Music career. "

"I need to share this with Neha. With a heart as passionate as hers, I  know she will understand. With her, this relationship doesn’t seem like two-halves together to make a whole; rather it feels as if two wholes becoming an even greater whole—two individuals who are in love enough to respect each other’s independence and uniqueness. Let me ask her out for a date", he thought just before texting her this:

Why do I feel happy when she is  around,

Why does she make my small world go round?

Why do I feel the sweet flutter of her heart,

Why does it make me want to never go apart?

Why am I so excited to see her happy face,

Why does it fill my days with so much grace?

Why do I feel a little lost when there is no connect,

Why does it then makes my memories recollect?

Why do I feel her love is like a little wonder,

Why does it always make my life  go fonder!! 

This poem is for you Neha, with all the love and affection I have for you. May I have the pleasure of taking you out on a date beautiful girl?

Adi sent the message and eagerly awaited a reply. His heart skipped a beat many a time and his eyes glued to the phone.

Neha  was  a bit restless since Adi left, she was worried that Adi was upset about she not telling him about the US project. She wanted to talk to him and  picked up the cell,  the message from Adi beeped.

Happiness, ecstasy,  love.. A gamut of emotions filled her thoughts as she read his text. Omg,  a DATE with Adi.!! Her thoughts raced....

I have never been on a date before. Always been excited to get a feel  of a date,  a romantic dinner with candlelight,  roses, gift, close moments, that feeling when someone makes you feel special ...

But now when I am asked I am totally  stunned and blank. We have been such close friends and now to take this relationship to the next level, it all seems like a dream.

She told mira about  it and asked her what do I tell him?  .

Mira  said.. Hey u lucky girl,  just tell him yes and make ur dream date happen.

Neha  took a deep breath as she keyed in  a "Yes, we will meet. "
