Special Chat @ Powai Lake !!

It was the most memorable ride of my life, thought Neha as they rode to the  destination  -  “ It all seems like a movie, too good to be true ! Cars, buses moving alongside, wind leisurely caressing my face, hair blown away by the wind and me blown away by his skilled driving, careful enough not to have me ruffled. Am loving every moment of this ride .”

As they were close to the Powai lake stretch, Adi slowed down the bike and said  “This is my favorite place, where I dream with my eyes wide open “ . Neha smiled as he asked  “ Would you mind if we spend some time here before I drop you home ? ”  and he parked his bike.

It was indeed a beautiful sight, the gleaming lake, dark sky,  horizons.. as they walked towards the small steps and found a place which gave a wholesome view of the place.  Adi looked as if he was kind of inhaling the moment.

Neha laughed and asked, “ Do all musicians love the scenic settings ?  Adi you make amazing music . Loved your song .  By the way, what do you do professionally ?

Am an BE(EXTC) by academics,  a Musician by passion, said Adi . One day I want to make a choice and I want to make it the right choice! This place and the alligators here would be a witness to my dreams.

“ Alligators ! Neha screamed as she took a few steps back.

Adi laughed and said “Oye, Darr mat, they are my friends, won’t harm me, tera tu dekh leh “ .

She smiled and said “ bahut mazza aa raha hai na tumhe mujhko daraa ke “ !!

As she heard Adi speak his story, she could see her own story running past her.  Neha said “ I can completely identify with you, Adi . I always wanted to pursue my career as a  writer, but had to compromise the same for family obligations. Today, yes I have a well paid job which takes care of my needs abut I do yearn for my passionate dream . May be some day … she trailed off !

“You could still do it , can’t you “   Adi asked.

“ No not yet Adi, have to take care of my parents too and their needs“  replied Neha, her voice choked .  And then she composed herself and told Adi ,  “  Am happy that you took a bold decision  few people have the guts to do  it . She continued “  You may not be successful overnight — but you’ll be successful one night.

She saw Adi watching her closely as she spoke and there was a silent moment as their eyes met , and Adi saw resilience in her eyes .

There is some kind of energy , positivity when I am near her .When she speaks why do I feel that things will seemingly fall in place ? Adi wondered . A feel good factor, yes ,there must be some connect !

They chatted and laughed  about  work, music, life. Conversation flowed  and  it didn’t seem that they were strangers talking  for the first time !  She in her intense way reassured him go all out and dare to make his dream come true  midst discussing all the pros and cons and do and don'ts.

It was time to move and there was a huge unspoken sense of belonging  and confidence and strength they were there for each other , as they walked towards the bike . The ride was  frozen in time, and the feeling was that of a cloud just moving along  in the skies .

Adi dropped  Neha at her place , waved to  her  before he rode off .

As Neha turned & walked up the gate she felt  little tears in her eyes. She tried to be cool, not sure why, should have let her emotions show ?  I don’t even know him well, yet why do I feel drawn to him, why is it that I want to be a part of his dreams, Why do I want to see him succeed? Will even acknowledge me or appreciate me in his success ? Neha had no answers. Yet , She  wanted to help him, be a part of his struggles and stand by him while he chases his dreams !

Adi was still riding high on emotion, on happiness, and on the feeling that some dreams do come true.

There are moments in life I will always remember, Not because they were important but because you were there !!

What a beautiful day, Neha thought as she was getting ready to sleep, at the same moment her cell beeped and flashed –Message from Adi

Bated breath ,she read his message :

Whenever I am at the powai lake, get immersed in my thoughts, my dreams. But today it was kinda different and left me with a happier feeling that you were with me to share that moment . Thank you , Neha . Penning a couple of lines for you ( I know its amateurish , fir bhi ! )

      Tears in the lovely eyes yet the lips had a beautiful smile
